Observers say that talks to be held by Poland’s head of state with his Korean hosts will help further develop the two countries’ business contacts.
Chairman of the Association of Polish Economists Ryszard Petru said much can be learned from South Korean experience, for instance how to avoid the so-called ‘average wealth’ trap.
“The fact that Apple is a competitor of Samsung and not Nokia is a sign of our times,” he told Polish Radio.
Ryszard Petru admitted that President Komorowski’s visit is not bound to mark any breakthrough in bilateral relations but it shall be a good opportunity to have a closer look at real possibilities for a faster pace of economic development than that scored by Poland.
The overall value of Korean investments declared in Poland has topped the level of 1.7 billion dollars.
Poland’s Economy Ministry data show annual trade turnover with South Korea to have reached 3.9 billion euro in 2012. (ss/pg)
