It is expected that the Polish head of state will travel to Tokyo for 26 and 27 February.
According to Japanese sources, ''Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will propose to Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski cooperation between the two countries in their efforts to promote global peace.''
Poland and Japan will also ''exchange views on the Ukrainian situation and anti-terrorism measures.''
The summit comes as both Poland and Japan prepare their own commemorations for the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The last time that a Polish head of state travelled to Japan was in 2008, when President Lech Kaczynski visited the country.
The vote count in Poland's 16 November 2014 local elections saw chronic delays, compelling Komorowski to postpone his planned visit to Japan late that month. (nh)
