Polish PM among world's most influential women: Forbes

Poland's prime minister is the 31st most influential woman in the world and the tenth most influential woman in politics, according to a new ranking by Forbes magazine.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel topped Forbes' list, followed by British Prime Minister Theresa May and philanthropist Melinda Gates, founder of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, while in 15th position Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen was the third-highest ranked politician.
Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło was also outranked by US first daughter Ivanka Trump, who took 19th position, media mogul Oprah Winfrey (21st), and Queen Elizabeth II, who ranked 26th and, at 91, was the oldest woman on the list.
Behind Szydło were Myanmar's de facto leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, who ranked 33rd, Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic (39th), Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg (46th), US politician Hillary Clinton (65th), Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite (68th), and Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid (78th).
Also lower in the ranking than Szydło were Arianna Huffington, co-founder of The Huffington Post, pop stars Beyonce Knowles and Taylor Swift, and author of the Harry Potter series J.K. Rowling. (vb/pk)
