"We hope there will be intensification of economic relations between our countries in terms of trade and direct investment,” Poland’s Jacek Czaputowicz said after meeting his Japanese counterpart Taro Kono.
“Japan is an important investor in the Polish economy. Thanks to it we gain access to modern technologies," Czaputowicz added at a joint press conference.
The Polish foreign minister told reporters that his country was interested in joint energy-sector projects with Japan.
Czaputowicz said he and Kono had also discussed North and South Korea, the Middle East and Ukraine.
Poland on January 1 became a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for a two-year term that ends on December 31, 2019.
