The Speaker of Poland lower house of parliament was on Wednesday expected to discuss Polish-Hungarian ties and problems in the EU during a one-day visit to Budapest.
Speaker Marek Kuchciński was set to meet the Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly, László Kövér.
The visit was to see the unveiling of a bust of Marshal Józef Piłsudski, a Polish military leader and statesman, and a key figure in his country recovering its sovereignty a century ago.
The bust was to be unveiled in the Hungarian capital’s 12th district.
On November 11, 1918, when an armistice ending World War I was signed, Piłsudski arrived in Warsaw, announcing Polish independence after more than a century of partitions and foreign rule.
