Andrzej Duda was scheduled to hold face-to-face talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on issues including the Three Seas Initiative.
Poland and Croatia launched the regional drive in 2015 to boost infrastructure, energy and economic cooperation as well as political ties among 12 European countries.
Krzysztof Szczerski, a senior aide to the Polish head of state, said that while in Berlin Duda would "also raise contentious issues in Polish-German relations, including, of course, the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline and our opinion about this project.”
The 1,200-kilometre Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which is scheduled for completion in 2019, is expected to supply around 55 billion cubic metres of natural gas a year from Russia to Germany under the Baltic Sea, circumventing Poland, the Baltic states and Ukraine. The project is opposed by Warsaw.
Germany's Merkel visited Warsaw in March shortly after the formation of a new government in Berlin.
