The document, signed by Polish Energy Minister Krzysztof Tchórzewski and US Energy Secretary Rick Perry in Warsaw on Thursday, concerns the security of gas supplies, the development of nuclear energy and cyber security support, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Poland’s Tchórzewski said the document, part of what is known as the Poland-US Strategic Dialogue on Energy, was a follow-up to a declaration on strategic partnership signed by the Polish and US presidents in Washington on September 18.
Poland’s state-run gas company PGNiG on Thursday signed a long-term contract to buy liquefied natural gas from the United States as part of efforts to reduce the country’s dependence on Russian deliveries.
