Poland and Denmark hail EU crisis deal

Prime Minister Donald Tusk met his Danish counterpart Helle Thorning-Schmidt in Warsaw, Thursday, where they both claimed the new EU bailout package was “good for Europe”.

“Thanks to [the deal] we count on the Greek crisis not spilling out onto other European nations that are threatened by the crisis,” PM Tusk said.
"We have witnessed a very serious and, finally, concrete step in the struggle against the crisis," he added.
Talks between the two heads of government included consultations on the hand-over of the EU six-month presidency, currently held by Poland. Denmark takes over on 1 January.
“We wish to achieve a common European interest based on cooperation and cohesion. It is in that spirit that we wish to continue our discussion in the next few months ahead,” said Danish prime minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt. (pg)
