Poland's OFF Festival has been picked as one of the twenty best music festivals to catch in North America and Europe this summer.
The choice of “essential” summer events was made by leading web resource Pitchfork, a Chicago-based enterprise that has been highly influential in breaking many bands.
The OFF alternative music festival was launched in 2006 by Artur Rojek, frontman of Polish rock band Myslovitz.
The three-day event is held in the southern Polish city of Katowice.
This January, the festival won the prize for the best medium-sized event at the 3rd European Festival Awards.
Music-lovers have plenty to look forward to for this year's event, with Iggy Pop topping the bill.
Other acts due to perform include Shabazz Palaces, Baroness, the Antlers and the Wedding Present.
OFF Festival 2012 runs from 3-5 August. (nh)
