The Warsaw gig, which will be part of McCartney's 'Out There!' tour, will be the former Beatles star's first ever performance in Poland.
The musician's legions of Polish fans had been keeping their fingers crossed that 'Macca' would add a Polish date to his tour, and today their hopes were rewarded.
Those able to snap up a ticket can expect a three-hour bonanza, taking in both McCartney's solo hits, as well as classics by Wings and of course, The Beatles.
Tickets go on sale on Friday 22 March, with prices starting at 242 zloty (58 euro), rising all the way to 1100 zloty (265 euro) for a prime position.
The only other Beatle to have played in Poland was Ringo Starr in 2011.
Very few fashionable Western rock bands were invited to play in Poland during the communist era, the Rolling Stones being a rare exception. The Stones played the Congress Hall of Warsaw's Place of Culture and Science in April 1967.
However, documents in Poland's state-backed Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) indicate that the communist authorities had considered inviting The Beatles in 1966 as a means of undermining the the 1000th anniversary of Poland's adoption of Christianity. (nh)
