United Europe Jazz Festival to kick off in Zakopane

The performers will include the Zbigniew Namysłowski Quintet, as well as Enrico Rava Trio from Italy, and will play on stage at the Kino Sokół in the southern Polish town of Zakopane.

“An important event of the [United Europe Jazz Festival] will be a concert as part of the Jazz Top Gala,” said Maria Kubasik from the Zakopane Promotion Office.

On Saturday evening, Michał Wróblewski, who recently won the title “new hope” by a local monthly, will perform in Zakopane. He will be followed by the British band Alan Benzie Trio.

The last day of the festival on 3 May, will host a number of bands from the Visegrad Group, including Boogie Boys from Poland, Zeuritia Trio feat. Libor Smoldas & Duncan Hopkins from the Czech Republic, as well as Erich Bobos Prochazka & Marek Wolf from Slovakia. (rg)
