A 35-year-old Ferrari which was to be shipped from Los Angeles to Poland aroused the suspicions of federal customs agents from the Port of LA.

They decided to probe deeper into the car's papers, which at first glance seemed to be in perfect order. However it quickly turned out that a Ferrari with such VIN numbers had been sent some 11 years ago from the US to Norway via Germany.
The customs officers dug deeper and discovered that the Ferrari 308 GTS from 1981, which was to be transported from Los Angeles to the Polish port city of Gdynia, was stolen some 30 years ago. The cult vehicle was the model driven by Tom Selleck in the 1980s “Magnum P.I” TV series.
It is worth over PLN 200,000 (some USD 50,000), and has only 70,000 kilometres on the clock.
The US customs did not reveal who was to be the recipient in Poland. (ab/rg)
