"Plac Zabaw" ("Playground"), the first feature film of the Polish director, poses universal questions related to the nature of evil.

The movie tells a story of a 12-year-old pupil, who falls in love with her classmate. After arranging a secret meeting, the situation spins out of control.

The screening at the festival on Monday will mark the film's world premiere.

Nineteen other movies are participating in the main competition, including Oliver Stone's "Snowden" and Ewan McGregor's "American Pastoral."

The Polish production was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

The San Sebastián International Film Festival is one of the most prestigious events for movie lovers in Europe. The event's 64th edition will close on September 24. (ał)
