Nehring, a 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition finalist, will be accompanied at the festival’s inaugural concert by the National Symphony Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Nehring will perform Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1, Allegro maestoso.
The festival coincides with the fourth UAE International Chopin-Beethoven-Debussy competition for young amateur pianists.
The competition is an initiative of the UAE’s culture ministry and the Polish embassy, among others.
It focuses on Polish composer Fryderyk Chopin, Germany’s Ludwig van Beethoven and French composer Claude Debussy.
The award ceremony and winners’ concert will take place on 17 November.
Twenty-one-year-old Nehring started playing the piano at the age of five, attending primary and secondary music schools Kraków, in Poland’s south. (vb/pk)
