Polish photographer Mariusz Prusaczyk is competing in the professional category. Prusaczyk takes photos of the natural world from the air. The website of the competition describes his entries as images of a “surrealistic industrial lake in Poland”.
Meanwhile, Paweł Jędrusik, Mariusz Stanosz, Michał Płachta and Iwona Czubek were shortlisted in the open category.
The World Photography Awards are held annually by World Photography Organisation. The competition was launched in 2008, and is currently sponsored by Sony.
