Bollywood movie to be shot in Poland

A new Tamil-language Bollywood thriller entitled Vijay 61 is being shot in the Polish city of Gdańsk.

The movie follows a doctor who has devoted his life to helping the poor.
Filming is under way at several locations including Gdańsk's Old Town, the European Solidarity Centre, the Lech Wałęsa Airport and the Energa Gdańsk Stadium.
Many of the scenes involve hundreds of dancers and extras.
The Indian crew remains in Poland until 29 May.
The film is directed by Atlee Kumar, with debutant cinematographer GK Vishnu and Oscar-winning music producer A.R. Rahman also working on the film.
The cast includes Bollywood star Vijay, Kajal Aggarval and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
The film is set for release in October.
In recent years, several Bollywood movies have been shot on location in Poland, including Vikram K. Kumar's 2016 movie, 24. (mk/vb)
