She laid a wreath at the Ghetto Heroes Monument located at the site of several clashes between German forces and Jewish partisans during World War II.
Ivanka Trump later visited the nearby Polin Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump was slammed by the leaders of the Jewish community in Poland for failing to attend the monument himself during his 16-hour trip to Warsaw, which started late on Wednesday night.
“Since the fall of communism in 1989 all American presidents and vice presidents visiting Warsaw have always visited the Ghetto Heroes Monument,” the leaders of the Jewish community said in a statement.
“We deeply regret that President Donald Trump … considered it appropriate to break with that worthy tradition. We hope this snub does not express the attitudes and feelings of the American people,” they added. (vb/pk)
