Among those wishing her well were representatives of the town authorities who visited her in the ‘White Convent', which is home to over thirty nuns.
Asked about her recipe for longevity, Sister Dominika has only one piece of advice – ‘be close to God’.
She is not, incidentally, Poland’s oldest nun. Sister Cecilia from the Dominican Convent in Kraków turned 109 on 25 March 2017.
Cecilia is believed to be the oldest nun in the world. She took her temporary vows in 1931, followed by perpetual vows three years later. During her eighty-six years in the convent, she served as doorkeeper, organist, and cantor. (mk/vb)
