It features violin concertos by 19th-century Polish composer and virtuoso Henryk Wieniawski and 20th-century Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich, with Korean soloist Bomsori Kim, the second-prize winner of last year’s International Wieniawski Competition in Poznań.
The orchestra is conducted by its music director, Jacek Kaspszyk.
Previous CDs in the series included works by Mieczysław Weinberg (1919-1999) and Karol Szymanowski (1882-1936).
All the albums are included in the Warner Classics' international distribution network. (mk/vb)
