Entitled “Post-Soviet Visions: Image and Identity in the New Eastern Europe”, it also features photos by artists from Georgia, Germany, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
The Polish contribution to the show includes Michał Korta’s striking black-and-white images of brutalist architecture in Skopje, and Jędrzej Franek’s pictures of tower blocks in his hometown of Poznań, western Poland.
Exhibition curator Anastasia Fedorova told Polish Radio’s correspondent in London that Franek “approaches the structures which could seem very imposing and brutal to some people in the West with a certain romanticism and affection.”
The exhibition runs until 15 April. (mk/vb)
