The concert will feature songs about the historic event as well as other patriotic melodies, presented by the Polish Army's Representative Choir, the Świt ensemble from Wrocław, in Poland's southwest, and a number of other famed Polish artists.

Organised by the Warsaw Patriotic Association, the Victory 1920 concert commemorates the anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw, which took place on August 13-25, 1920.

On August 15, 1920, Polish forces turned the battle around, forcing Lenin's Red Army to start to retreat.

The battle, just two years after Poland regained independence after more than 120 years of partitions and foreign rule, is said to have stopped the Bolshevik's from spreading across Western Europe. (vb)
