IKEA pulls Polish meat products from restaurants

IKEA in Poland has stopped using beef from a Polish supplier in its restaurants after veterinary inspectors confirmed horse DNA at three meat processing plants.
Initially, IKEA in Poland only withdrew meatballs made in Sweden, after Czech authorities found horse DNA in that product on Monday.
But now IKEA spokeswoman Karolina Choroszczak says that Polish beef products from a meat processing plant in Radom, central Poland, have also been removed from restaurants.
“Currently our supplier is waiting for final results to come back from the lab,” she told Polish Radio's IAR news agency.
Poland's Chief Vet, Janusz Związek, says that inspectors are trying to trace where the contaminated meat came from in three processing plants in Poland where horse meat was detected on Wednesday. (pg)
