According to research by the Sedlak & Sedlak firm, IT workers typically earnt a gross monthly income of 6000 zloty (1450 euro) in 2013.
The next most lucrative field was telecommunications, with the typical employee in this branch earning 5600 zloty (1353 euro) per month.
However, telecommunications outdid IT when it came to the top tier employees in these industries.
Among the 25 percent highest earning workers in both sectors, the average salary was 9600 zloty (2319 euro) for telecommunications and 9166 zloty (2214 euro) for IT.
Meanwhile, the stereotype of the struggling artist was borne out by the study. The average monthly wage for Poles working in the arts was 3000 zloty (725 euro). Those working in the health service did only slightly better, with 3170 per month (765 euro). (nh)
