All four domestic channels of Polish Radio, as well as Polish Radio External Service, news station Polskie Radio 24 and the music-centred Radio Rytm are available on DAB+, including regional stations of Polish Radio in both Wroclaw and Szczecin respectively.

The move means that DAB+ broadcasts are now available to 8 million Poles and cover around 7 percent of Poland’s territory. Polish Radio is expecting complete DAB+ broadcast coverage across Poland by 2020.

From 1 October, DAB+ will be available in an additional number of cities, including Lodz, Opole, Poznan, Gdansk, Kielce and Krakow.

Meanwhile, residents of Bydgoszcz, Koszalin, Olsztyn, Zielona Gora, Bialystok, Lublin and Rzeszow are expected to have DAB+ coverage by the end of 2014.

More on DAB+ digital broadcasts can be found on Polish Radio’s dedicated page (in English). (jb)
