Polish-minted money sent to Paraguay

The Polish mint has sent 35 metric tonnes of banknotes to the South American of Paraguay.

More than 80 large crates filled with banknotes were transported from Warsaw to a vault at the Central Bank in Asuncion, the Paraguayan capital.
The details are confidential, as the Polish Security Printing Works (PWPW) never discloses the exact date of delivery or itinerary of shipments.
PWPW printed 13 million banknotes with a face value of 10,000 Paraguayan guaraní, and 15 million notes of 20,000 Paraguayan guaraní.
The 10,000 guaraní denomination are embedded with an optically variable thread – its color changes depending on the viewing angle.
The first time PWPW delivered banknotes to Paraguay was three years ago
For the first time PWPW notes to Paraguay he delivered three years ago. Then, 30 million banknotes ordered Guatemala.
A few months ago, the Polish mint won the tender for printing Lempiras, the currency in Honduras. Production will begin later this year.
At the time of writing, the USD/PYG rate stood at 5,040.
The 10,000 Paraguayan guaraní banknote features an image of Paraguayan lawyer José Gaspar Rodríguez de Francia (1766-1840) on its obverse side, while the 20,000 guaraní banknote features a picture of a local woman. (rg)
