Industrial production grew by 2.8% y/y in May, well below analyst expectations.

According the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS), over the previous month, production dropped by 1.3 percent.
Analysts had predicted a rise of 4.1 percent over the previous year.
“In the January-May period of 2015, sold production of industry was by 4.1 percent higher than in the corresponding period of 2014 which saw a 4.7 percent increase, whereas construction-assembly production [increased] by 2.9 percent [over] the corresponding period of 2014 which saw an 11.3 percent increase,” GUS wrote in a statement.
