Poland, Britain 'jointly seeking anti-dumping measures'

Poland and Britain are teaming up in an effort to convince the European Commission to launch anti-dumping measures over cheap steel imports, Polish Development Minister and deputy PM Mateusz Morawiecki has said.

"They [Britain] have an influx of vast amounts of steel at dumping prices from China, and we [have an influx of steel] from Belarus and Russia,” Morawiecki said on the sidelines of a London conference.
“We are combining forces to convince the European Commission to initiate the appropriate measures," Morawiecki told reporters, adding that he was referring to the "initiation of an anti-dumping procedure."
EU anti-dumping measures could result in the imposition of taxes on imports.
Morawiecki was speaking on the sidelines of a London conference for institutional investors, organized by Poland’s PKO BP bank in cooperation with the Warsaw Stock Exchange, on the capital market in Poland and in Central and Eastern Europe. (pk)
