Filing tax returns has just become easier with the Polish Finance Ministry on Wednesday launching a system under which the tax office completes forms on behalf of citizens.

A finance ministry spokesman said that people need to fill out a new form, giving information about tax deductibles and children, as well as other information. Five days later, a completed tax form is sent to a nominated email address.
The tax payer can then review and adjust the return, if necessary, and send it to the tax office.
Otherwise, come tax time, the tax office will deem the return to be correct and lodge it on behalf of the customer.
Poland’s finance ministry expects some 13 million people to take advantage of the easier option. (vb/pk)
