Some 400 exhibitors from around the world and Polish government, European Commission and International Energy Agency officials will attend the mining, power industry and metallurgy expo, one of the biggest of its kind in the world.
“These fairs show how much modern technology … there can be in mining. And that is the future of Polish mining and the future of the Polish economy,” Szydło said, adding that Poland was undertaking long-term industry reforms.
She also said that coal would play an important role in Poland's energy mix, as the domestically available product would ensure energy security.
The expo closes on Friday. (vb/pk)
