The European Regional Development Fund will subsidise Kross with roughly PLN 2 million (EUR 432,000), almost 40 percent of the total cost of the project, the PAP news agency has reported.
Company CEO Zbigniew Sosnowski told the Puls Biznesu daily that Kross “has spent the last year and a half preparing for carbon-fibre frame production.”
Launching such an assembly line in Poland would make Kross one of a few European bicycle companies to produce their carbon-fibre frames at home rather than import cheap frames from markets such as China.
Carbon fibre is widely used in the bicycle industry due to the material’s stiffness and light weight, features essential for a professional bike frame. (tf/str)
