The list is based on opinions by tourism experts, travel journalists, bloggers and tour operators.
Sopot Beach is listed in 48th place. Flightnetwork writes on its website that the beach is “famous for its atmosphere, littered with seaside restaurants, shops, and plenty of places to soak in the culture of the Polish Riviera.
“Visitors come in droves in the summer months, but that’s a big part of what adds to the fun of the region. The water is warmest in late summer and early fall, and the typically small waves are ideal for bathing in the sea. The sand is soft and clean, and all you have to do is slip into your flip-flops to grab a drink at a nearby disco or stock up on souvenirs.”
Bondi Beach, just outside of Sydney, Australia, is number one on the list.
Sopot is one of Poland’s most popular tourist resorts. Its 515-metre-long wooden pier is the longest such structure in Europe.
Sopot, with a population of around 40,000, lies between the larger cities of Gdańsk and Gdynia, which together constitute the Tri-City metropolitan area on the Polish Baltic Sea coast.
