Only 16.4 percent of employers in Poland say they plan to take on more staff—a departure from a trend seen over the last five years, according to a report.

Meanwhile, 78.5 percent of companies plan to focus on maintaining their employee numbers, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency has reported.
“In contrast, over the last five years a steady increase in recruitment plans has been visible," said Iwona Szmitkowska, CEO of the Work Service job agency.
She added that employers were reining in recruitment plans amid a fall in orders, rising wage expectations and a slowdown in the automotive industry.
Szmitkowska was commenting on the findings of a study for Work Service that interviewed over 700 people.
