Poland 3rd most attractive in region to investors: study

Poland has slipped one notch to no. 3 in a new study ranking how attractive countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltics are to investors.

Poland was ranked behind Estonia and the Czech Republic, but ahead of Slovakia and Slovenia.
The results were unveiled on Thursday by the Polish-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Between 2016 and 2018, Poland was ranked second.
Foreign investors said they found Poland attractive because it is a member of the European Union and has quality staff. But they were critical about the predictability of the country’s economic policy, state news agency PAP reported.
Over half (54.4 percent) of foreign investors questioned were upbeat about the Polish economy. Meanwhile, 37.7 percent said they were satisfied and only 7.8 percent were gloomy about the shape of the country’s economy, PAP added.
Experts have forecast that Polish economic growth could slow to between 3.8 percent and 4.5 percent this year, according to the central bank’s latest Survey of Professional Forecasters, released on Thursday.
