Citing the PortalTechnologiczny.pl website, Gazeta Wyborcza reported that an innovative Polish start-up has obtained over PLN 16.5 million (EUR 3.8m, USD 4.3m) to conduct tests.
Gazeta Wyborcza cited the Hyper Poland company as saying that the funding comes from Poland’s National Centre for Research and Development.
The daily reported that tests will be carried out at a centre near Wrocław in south-western Poland, where a full-scale prototype will be created -- together with a track of over 500 metres on which a special vehicle built by Hyper Poland will be able to accelerate up to 300 kmh.
The final stage of the project would see special tunnels built with reduced air pressure inside, allowing trains to travel at up to 1,200 kmh, according to Gazeta Wyborcza.
