Profits drop for Polish banks

Net profits for Poland’s banking sector dropped 15 percent year on year between January and April, according to the country’s central bank.

In the first four months, net profits totalled PLN 4.24 billion (around USD 1.13 billion, EUR 995 million), state news agency PAP reported, citing the National Bank of Poland.
The news agency added, citing its own calculations, that in the month of April Polish banks’ net profits plunged 19.3 percent.
Meanwhile, administrative costs rose 7 percent year on year between January and April to PLN 12.77 billion, according to PAP.
