Meanwhile, 65 percent of respondents to the study by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) were positive about the conditions for doing business in the country.

On a scale of 1 to 5, those surveyed rated Poland's investment climate at 3.7 points, one of the highest scores since the annual Investment Climate study was first conducted 12 years ago, the government-run agency said.

Foreign investors polled for the study named Poland’s large market and economic stability as the country’s main strengths.

Meanwhile, they listed changing and unclear regulations, an inefficient commercial court system and tax paperwork as areas that needed the most improvement, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency said.

It conducted the study together with professional services firm Grant Thornton and investment bank HSBC.
