Two Polish universities in prestigious FT business school ranking

The ranking included the 75 top graduate business schools in Europe. SGH was one of two Polish schools included in the summary, with Kozminski University ranked 39th.

Kozminski University was founded in 1993 as the College of Business and Management. It is the only non-public university in Poland with accredited to award a PhD degree in the field of management sciences.

By 2009 it had promoted 36 doctors and completed two habilitations.

“We are very proud of the presence of our university in the Financial Times EMBA ranking,” says Prof. Andrzej K. Koźmiński, the Rector of Kozminski University.

“We have the courage to compete with the best programs of this sort in the world, but we are also certain that Poland is not, and should not be, treated as some kind of ‘ educational Third World’,” Koźmiński says.

“We host over 700 foreign students from over 30 countries on our campus at the moment and we have international academic staff. So we are a truly international business school. “

Warsaw School of Economics was founded in 1906 and is the oldest economic university in Poland.

Since its beginning the school has had over 70,000 graduates pass through its gates.
Currently, SGH has more than 16,000 students, including 6,000 full-time students. (eb/pg)
