The new advisory group – which has been set up to help with investments in Eastern Europe, Asia, and Africa – is to include the former president of Poland, Aleksander Kwasniewski, German president Horst Koehler as well as James L. Jones, a former US Marines general, reports the Rzeczpospolita daily.

The first meeting of the group took place at the Krynica Economic Forum earlier in September, according to the daily, which adds that the group is to meet on quarterly or on an ad hoc basis in emergency situations.

It is not known how much Kulczyk will be paying the group’s members for their work in the group, however.

Poland’s former president, Aleksander Kwasniewski is set to be in charge of contacts with the East. The move comes as Kulczyk Oil Ventures has investments in the Ukraine, as well as Syria and Brunei.

General James L. Jones, a former presidential aide to Barack Obama on national security issues and NATO commander, will deal with Asian contacts, especially Afghanistan, where Kulczyk is reported to be searching for gold.

Horst Koehler, meanwhile, is to help Kulczyk with African investments. (jb)
