Poland is a loyal member of the European Union and a country that meets its obligations as part of the bloc, Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło said on Wednesday.

"We expect to be treated like all other member states,” she added.
She made the comment when asked about a decision by a top EU court that has dismissed Slovakia and Hungary’s complaints about mandatory refugee quotas, complaints which were backed by Poland.
Szydło said the court’s verdict did not change the position of the Polish government on migration policy.
"We have always stressed that a wise and effective migration policy must first and foremost meet two goals: it must be safe and effective in the sense of really helping those who need such help," Szydło said.
"It seems that such thinking and this kind of approach is now being embraced by many member states," she added.
She also said that she would in the near future unveil a proposal for even “more intense activity and increased support from the Polish government to countries in need.”
Szydło was speaking in the southern Polish spa town of Krynica where the annual Economic Forum conference, one the largest events of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, was taking place from Tuesday to Thursday. (gs/pk)
