First was a "Freedom breakfast" - scrambled eggs made out of 1989 eggs.

The breakfast was followed by a walk along a route of communist-era buildings and to a recreated polling station from the time. Between June 4 and 7 Białystok is presenting a programme under the heading of "Days of Freedom and Civic Liberties".
In the words of Białystok mayor, Tadeusz Truskolaski "This was one of the biggest bloodless revolutions. Perhaps the Berlin Wall has come down in history, but everything began with Poland, with the elections. Without the Polish move, Polish heroes, none of it would have happened" he said.
The celebrations in Białystok culminate on June 7 with a gala open-air "Concert of Freedom".
June 4, 1989 saw the first partially free elections in post-war Poland with massive support for candidates from the opposition.
