Top arm wrestler arrested on organised crime charges

The leader of Poland's arm wrestling association, who are organising the world championships in Warsaw this weekend, has been arrested on charges connected with murder, robbery and extortion.

Poland's Central Bureau of Investigation has said that a man, referred to as a Ukrainian by the name of Igor M, was detained by officers along with 12 others on murder and other organised crime related charges.
Igor M was the organiser of the Armwrestling Nemiroff World Cup 2012 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Warsaw on Saturday and Sunday.
If found guilty the Ukrainian faces up to 12 years in prison. (pg)
