Success for Polish kickboxers in World Games

Kickboxers have won further medals for Poland at the World Games underway in the south-western city of Wrocław.

Dawid Kasperski (in the up to 86 kg category) and Marta Waliczek (-60 kg) took golds.

Silvers were won by Michał Ronkiewicz (-75 kg) and Mateusz Pluta (-91 kg)

Bronzes were won by Wojciech Kazieczko (-67 kg) and Małgorzata Dymus (-56 kg).

Anna Wierzbowska won silver in the women's openweight 500m final in indoor rowing.

The World Games, which close on 30 July, see athletes competing in a range of non-Olympic sports including parachuting, lifesaving, frisbee, sumo and roller hockey.

Kickboxing and indoor rowing are show disciplines at the World Games and successes by Polish athletes in these sports are not included in the medals classification.
