American sports weekend in Warsaw

The U.S. embassy in Warsaw and American Center Warsaw invite all to attend an American Sports Weekend in the Polish capital on 26 and 27 August.

The organisers promise lots of sports attractions for people of all ages, including American football and baseball demonstration games on modified American football and baseball fields, hands-on training sessions, an obstacle course and contests with prizes.

All the activities will be led by professional players from the Polish League of American Football teams such as Warsaw Eagles, Warsaw Dukes, Crusaders Warszawa and Warsaw Sharks, the U.S. embassy says.

Softball and baseball activities will be carried out by Warsaw Diamonds softball team and Warsaw Dragons baseball team, the embassy adds.

Marines from the U.S. embassy will demonstrate a “Marine Challenge” in which everyone can test their fitness level.

An information booth on studying in the United States and American culture, as well as American food will be available, according to the embassy.

The event is co-organised with Warsaw City Hall’s Sports Center Active Warsaw, the Polish League of American Football and the Polish Federation of Baseball and Softball.

When: Aug. 26-27, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Where: Warsaw City Hall’s Vistula District Recreation Zone on the “Poniatówka” beach at the Poniatowski Bridge
