The pair beat Croatia’s Ivan Dodig and Spain’s Marcel Granoller 7-6(3), 3-6, 10-8 in a cliffhanger final on Sunday.

The Polish-Brazilian duo had made the final after easing past Britain’s Jamie Murray and Brazil’s Bruno Soares 6-4, 6-2 in a one-sided semifinal on Saturday.

On Friday, Kubot and Melo beat Spanish duo Feliciano Lopez and Marc Lopez 6-3, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.

The Paris victory marks Kubot and Melo’s sixth title of the season, after wins at Wimbledon, Miami, Madrid, Halle and s'Hertogenbosch.

Kubot and Melo are tipped among the favorites to win this year’s ATP Finals in London on November 12-19.

On Monday, 35-year-old Kubot, a native of Lubin in southwestern Poland, is expected to officially move up to world No. 1 in the Association of Tennis Professionals’ (ATP) doubles rankings.
