Four medals for Poland at European rowing championships

Poland has won four medals, one gold, two silver and one bronze, at the European rowing championships, which ended in Lucerne, Switzerland, on Sunday.

Poland’s Mirosław Ziętarski and Fabian Barański claimed gold in the men's double sculls, and countryman Artur Mikołajczewski won silver in the lightweight men's single sculls.

Mikołaj Burda, Mateusz Wilangowski, Marcin Brzeziński and Michał Szpakowski took another silver for Poland in the Men's Four event.

Meanwhile, the Polish Women's Four team of Joanna Dittmann, Monika Chabel, Olga Michałkiewicz and Maria Wierzbowska claimed the bronze.

Poland placed joint fifth with Britain in the overall medals table.

Germany topped the table with seven medals, five gold, one silver and one bronze.

The 2019 European Rowing Championships were held in Lucerne from May 31 to June 2.

Poland won four medals, one gold, one silver and two bronze, at last year’s European rowing championships in Glasgow.

The 2019 world rowing championships will take place in Linz-Ottensheim, Austria, from August 25 to September 1.
