Tennis: Rising Polish star stuns Olympic champ

Rising Polish tennis star Iga Świątek has moved into the fourth round of the women's singles at the French Open tournament in Paris after powering past Puerto Rico’s Olympic champion Monica Puig.

The 18-year-old Pole beat the Puerto Rican world No. 59 in three sets, 0-6, 6-3, 6-3, in their third-round match in the French capital on Saturday.
The young Polish player was on Monday due to face third-seeded Romanian Simona Halep, the defending French Open champion.
Halep eliminated Poland’s world No. 87 Magda Linette in the second round of the women's singles at the French Open on Thursday.
Świątek, meanwhile, ousted 16th-seeded Qiang Wang of China 6-3, 6-0 in the second round of the Grand Slam tournament in Paris.
The Polish teenager, who is ranked world No. 104 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), posted a 6-3, 6-0 win against France's Selena Janicijevic in the first round on Tuesday.
