Belgium, who came third in the World Cup in Russia last year, remain at the top of the FIFA rankings, ahead of world champions France.
The Polish national squad on Monday demolished Israel 4-0 in its fourth straight Euro 2020 qualifying win, all but securing a place in next year's tournament.
The Poles last Friday beat North Macedonia 1-0, though their performance in Skopje was uninspiring.
Poland opened their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign with a 1-0 away win against Austria on March 21. The Polish team three days later beat Latvia 2-0 in their second Euro 2020 qualifier at the National Stadium in Warsaw.
Out of Poland’s rivals in qualifiers for the Euro 2020 championships, the highest placed in the new FIFA rankings are Austria, who have moved up to No. 26.
Slovenia are at No. 65, North Macedonia at 73, Israel at 82, and Latvia at No. 137.
The Poles take on Slovenia away on September 6 and play Austria at home three days later.
