The Dutch coach's duties will be taken over by his assistant Kazimierz Moskal, informed the club's web site last night.
"The owner and management of the club would like to thank you [Robert Maaskant] and wish you continued success in your coaching career," reads a statement by the club.
The 42 year-old Masskant took over as first team coach in August last year and steered Wisla to the Ekstraklasa championship.
But Wisla failed to qualify for the Champions League at the beginning of this season and has played poorly in the Europa League, where they now languish at the bottom of Group K.
Wisla have lost three games in a row, including two in the domestic league where they are in sixth position.
Things reached rock bottom on Sunday when Wisla lost the local derby to arch-rivals Cracovia 0 – 1.
Masskant has argued that Wisla's poor form is partly due to injuries to key players, Israeli Maor Melikson, Poles Patryk Małecki and Radosław Sobolewski and the Czech Tomas Jirsak. (pg)
