Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) is to be launched in Poland this year and Polish Radio aims to be at the cutting edge of the new technology.
The public broadcaster has already set a tender deadline for June, when a provider will be chosen for digital transmissions, initially scheduled to start in July.
Krzysztof Luszczewski, company board's plenipotentiary for digital broadcasting, is convinced the technology will guarantee much more than a broader target range of Polish Radio programs.
"It provides a more interesting offer and certainly of better technical quality - things present day analogue radio cannot offer," says Luszczewski.
