As Slawek Szefs reports, Poland's security, NATO's eastern flank as well as the situation in Ukraine had dominated the talks.
"These topics had been discussed already in Warsaw, in Newport [during the NATO summit] and today's talks are another signal that these issues remain important and require attention,” Komorowski told journalists.
During his lecture at Columbia University Bronislaw Komorowski also made extensive reference to the plight of Ukraine when speaking about the Polish nation's quest for independence.
"Over the last years Poland has been a country of success. But this success was attained thanks to horrific sacrifice and arduous toil. Freedom was not granted to Poles, we've had to fight for it with claws and teeth. Now, we want to share this Polish success with others, especially with Ukraine,” president Komorowski declared.
